जलवायु परिवर्तन की शिकार छत्तीसगढ़ की पारम्परिक चिकित्सा और जड़ी-बूटियाँ

" जैसा कोदो चार-पांच दशक पहले होता था वैसा कोदो अब शायद ही मिले| वही खेत है, वही पुरानी किस्म है और वैसा ही खेती करने का ढंग है पर फिर भी औषधीय गुणों से भरपूर कोदो नही उगा पाते हैं|" छत्तीसगढ़ के मैदानी भाग के पारम्परिक चिकित्सक पारम्परिक फसल कोदो को लेकर शिकायत करते हैं| ये वे पारम्परिक चिकित्सक है जिन्होंने आधुनिक कृषि के भ्रमजाल से दूर रहकर पारम्परिक फसलों पर अपना ध्यान केन्द्रित किया और अधिक उत्पादन व मुनाफ़ा वाली आधुनिक खेती को नही अपनाया| ये पारम्परिक चिकित्सक कोदो से रोगों की चिकित्सा करते हैं| उसी कोदो से जिसकी अब दुनिया भर में मांग बढ़ती जा रही है डायबीटीज की शर्तिया दवा के रूप में| 

यदि दुनिया भर में कृषि विज्ञान के सन्दर्भ साहित्य खोजे तो कोदो की घटती गुणवत्ता के विषय में कुछ भी पढने को नही मिलेगा पर पीढीयों से कोदो के माध्यम से पारम्परिक चिकित्सा कर रहे विशेषज्ञों के अनुभवों को अनदेखा नही किया जा सकता है| जब सारी दुनिया में क्लाइमेट चेंज (जलवायु परिवर्तन) के दुष्प्रभावों को लेकर गर्मागर्म बहस हो रही है, ऐसे में इस से  छत्तीसगढ़ भी अछूता नही है| पारम्परिक चिकित्सक इस बात की पुष्टि करते हैं| वे मानसूनी वर्षा में आये परिवर्तन को कोदो के घटते औषधीय गुणों के लिए जिम्मेदार मानते हैं| "पानी तो गिरता है पर शुरू के कुछ महीनो में कम और बाद में ज्यादा| औषधीय कोदो की खेती   बरसात के शुरू के महीनो में होती है और असमान वर्षा के कारण फसल पर अनावश्यक दबाव पड़ता है| यह दबाव औषधीय गुणों पर नकारात्मक प्रभाव डालता है|" वे समझाने की कोशिश करते हैं| 

कोदो के घटते औषधीय गुण पारम्परिक चिकित्सकों को इसके कम इस्तमाल के लिए मजबूर कर रहे हैं| कुछ उत्साही पारम्परिक चिकित्सक इसके साथ दूसरी वनस्पतियों को मिलाकर नए मिश्रण बना रहे हैं| जलवायु परिवर्तन के कारण राज्य के हजारों कोदो आधारित पारम्परिक औषधीय मिश्रणों के अस्तित्व पर खतरा मंडराने लगा है| 

भले आम लोग साल (सरई या सरगी) को उसके बीजों के लिए उपयोगी मानते हो तो छत्तीसगढ़ की पारम्परिक चिकित्सा में साल की जड और छाल  का प्रयोग औषधि के रूप में होता है| छाल का आंतरिक प्रयोग शरीर की प्रतिरोधक क्षमता को बढाता है जबकि जड का बाहरी प्रयोग नाना प्रकार के त्वचा रोगों को ठीक करता है| राज्य के उन भागों में जहां साल के जंगल है, वहां के पारम्परिक चिकित्सक साल के अनगिनत पारम्परिक उपयोगो के विषय में जानकारी रखते हैं| पर आश्चर्यजनक रूप से साल आधारित पारम्परिक मिश्रणों के उपयोग में पिछले कुछ  दशकों से कमी आयी है| इस कमी का कारण साल की घटती उपलब्धता न होकर साल के पौध भागों के औषधीय गुणों में कमी है| पारम्परिक चिकित्सक कहते हैं कि गर्मियों में होने वाली बेमौसम बरसात से निश्चित ही प्यास से व्याकुल वन्य प्राणियों को राहत मिलती हैं पर यह साल के औषधीय गुणों के लिए अभिशाप से कम नही है| हाल के वर्षों में गर्मियों की वर्षा ने पारम्परिक चिकित्सकों को बहुत हताश किया है| जिस वर्ष  गर्मियों में जमकर बारिश होती है उस वर्ष वे साल के पौध भागों का एकत्रण नही करते हैं| कई बार उन्हें कई वर्षों  के बाद एकत्रण का मौक़ा मिलता है| इससे उनकी रूचि साल आधारित औषधीय मिश्रणों में कम होती जा रही है| निश्चित ही जलवायु परिवर्तन इन पर कहर ढा रहा है| 

आस्ट्रेलिया के वैज्ञानिक कहते हैं कि जलवायु परिवर्तन साइप्रस जाति  की वनस्पतियों के लिए मददगार सिद्ध होगा और ये तेजी से फैलेंगे| साइप्रस जाति  की वनस्पतियाँ छत्तीसगढ़ में भी पायी जाती है| नरजेवा, मोथा आदि स्थानीय नामो से पहचाने जाने वाली साइप्रस की बहुत सी जातियों ने किसानो के खेतों में कब्जा किया हुआ है| खरपतवार के रूप में ये किसानो के लिए सिरदर्द बने हुए हैं| वहीं नागर मोथा, मुस्तक आदि नामो से ये प्रजातियाँ वनोपज व्यापार की अहम भाग है| प्रति वर्ष बड़ी मात्रा में नम स्थानों से इनका एकत्रण होता है और फिर देश के इत्र उद्योगों से लेकर जानी-मानी दवा कंपनियों तक इन्हें भेजा जाता है| छत्तीसगढ़ के पारम्परिक चिकित्सक आस्ट्रेलियाई वैज्ञानिको के दावों की पुष्टि करते हैं| वे बताते हैं कि खेतों में इन प्रजातियों का विस्तार सारी सीमाएं लांघ रहा है| धमतरी और दुर्ग जिले में गर्मी की धान की फसल में पिछले साल इनका इतना अधिक प्रकोप हुआ कि सारे के सारे कृषि रसायनो ने घुटने टेक दिए और किसान इसे उखाड़ते-उखाड़ते थक गए| कमोबेश यही स्थिति पूरे प्रदेश में रही| कृषि वैज्ञानिक सुपर वीड की बात करने लगे| सुपर वीड यानी ऐसा खरपतवार जिसे किसी भी तरह से नष्ट नही किया जा सकता| साइप्रस की इस बढी हुयी ताकत के लिए जलवायु परिवर्तन उत्तरदायी है| 

इसका अधिक फैलाव वनोपज व्यापार से जुड़े हुए लोगों के लिए खुशखबरी हो सकती है क्योंकि इसकी लगातार अच्छी मांग होने के कारण इसकी उपलब्धता कम होती जा रही थी| यह शोध का विषय है कि जंगल में साइप्रस का बढ़ता फैलाव कही उसके औषधीय गुणों को तो प्रभावित नही कर रहा है| यदि ऐसा हुआ तो फिर इनका व्यापारिक महत्त्व घट जाएगा|   

शीत ऋतु भी जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रभाव से अछूती नही है| बुजुर्ग पारम्परिक चिकित्सक दावा करते हैं कि पहले जिस तरह लगातार ठण्ड पड़ती थी वैसी अब कई सालों के अंतराल में पडती है| थोड़ी ठंड पड़ने पर बादल आ जाते हैं और मौसम फिर गर्म हो जाता है| प्रकृति के इस अजीबोगरीब खेल से औषधीय वनस्पतियों पर विपरीत प्रभाव पड़ रहा है| कुकरौन्दा नामक शीत कालीन वनस्पति के प्रयोग में महारत रखने वाले पारम्परिक चिकित्सक बड़ी बेसब्री से ऐसे वर्षों की प्रतीक्षा करते हैं जब लम्बे समय तक ठण्ड पड़े| लम्बे समय की ठंड इस वनस्पति को औषधीय गुणों से परिपूर्ण कर देती है| जिन वर्षो में बादल अधिक आते है उन वर्षों में क्राइसोलीना मद्रासी नामक बीटल कीट का आक्रमण होता है जो कुकरौन्दा की पत्तियों की गुणवत्ता को प्रभावित करते हैं| कीट के आक्रमण से औषधीय गुण भी प्रभावित होते हैं| कुकरौन्दा के प्रयोग से साधारण सर्दी खांसी से लेकर कैंसर जैसे जटिल रोगों की चिकित्सा की जाती है| पारम्परिक चिकित्सक जब कई वर्षों तक इसे एकत्र नही कर पाते हैं तो उनकी रूचि इसमें कम होने लगती है और वे इसके विकल्पों की तलाश करने लगते हैं| 

सबसे अधिक चौकाने वाली बात गरियाबंद से मैनपुर के बीच फ़ैली की पहाड़ियों के शीर्ष पर उगने वाला गुलाबी रंग का कुकुरमुत्ता है| पिंक मशरूम की यह जंगली प्रजाति शरीर की घटती हुयी जीवनी शक्ति को बढाने के लिए अचूक औषधि के रूप में काम करती है| पारम्परिक चिकित्सा में लोकप्रिय होने के बावजूद यह व्यापरियों से बची रही और कभी भी बाजार के लिए इसे एकत्र नही किया गया| पिछले बीस वर्षों से ये मशरूम बहुत तेजी से नष्ट होते जा रहे हैं| पारम्परिक चिकित्सक हतप्रभ है| वे सीधे तौर पर मौसम में साल दर साल आ रहे परिवर्तन को दोषी मानते हैं|    

जलवायु परिवर्तन से पारम्परिक चिकित्सा को प्रत्यक्ष रूप से हानि को रही है इसकी पुष्टि ऊपर दिए गये कुछ उदाहरण करते हैं| राज्य के विभिन्न भागों में किये जा रहे वानस्पतिक सर्वेक्षणों से अब तक ३०० से अधिक प्रकार की जड़ी-बूटियों पर जलवायु परिवर्तन के बुरे प्रभावों को देखा गया है| यह चिंता का विषय है|
